Celebrate Portage! resulted from "Visioning in Portage," a dialogue between Leadership Portage County alumni (led by the Class of 2010), elected officials, business leaders, and local residents about the county's future, and how we might build cooperation and collaboration between local communities.

The consensus of those conversations? That Portage County is a great place to live and raise a family -- and that we should all do more to celebrate the things that make our community unique and special.

Celebrate Portage! was launched in 2014 to do just that. An all-volunteer group of community leaders came together to plan and deliver a gala awards dinner recognizing business development, art and cultural events, student- and volunteer-led community service efforts, and unsung community heroes. The gala awards dinner remains central to the Celebrate Portage! mission.

In addition to the awards dinner, Celebrate Portage! provides placemaking grants to local communities and organizations, elevates volunteer opportunities, and raises awareness about opportunities for socialization and community engagement in Portage County.

Celebrate Portage! remains volunteer-led and donor-funded, and is proud to play a vital part in recognizing the good and great things that make our community a wonderful place to call home.
